Python: A necessary evil for budding Computer Aided Design (CAD) designers

With introduction to FreeCAD and Salome-Mecca I have realized that in order to get an edge and better control over above mentioned softwares learning python becomes inevitable.

Its sufficient knowledge will enable designers to modify these Lesser General Public License (LGPL) softwares to suit their needs and in slicing out what they find potent.

Though I ain’t suggesting any book or video tutorial, I’m reading (just on trial basis) “Programming in Python 3 — A Complete Introduction to the Python Language, Second Edition (2010)” by Mark Summerfeild.
